  • Restlessness or difficulty sitting still
  • Impulsivity or acting without thinking

Signs of ADHD

People often seek an assessment when they notice patterns such as:

  • Difficulty focusing or staying on task
  • Frequently losing things or forgetting tasks
  • Struggling to follow instructions
  • Feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities
  • Difficulty managing time or deadlines
  • Being easily distracted
  • Feeling restless or unable to relax

Signs of ADHD in kids

or children, this may show up as:

  • Difficulty concentrating in school
  • Challenges with behaviour or following routines
  • Frustration with learning tasks

Signs of ADHD in adults

For adults, this may include:

  • Ongoing difficulties with organisation or work performance
  • Feeling constantly overwhelmed
  • Challenges managing responsibilities

If these difficulties are affecting daily life, an assessment can help provide understanding and direction.

What the assessment includes

Our ADHD assessment is comprehensive and evidence-based. It may include:

  • A detailed developmental and behavioural history
  • A clinical interview
  • Standardised ADHD questionnaires and rating scales
  • Input from school, work, or family where appropriate
  • Cognitive or attention-based tasks where needed

In many cases, the assessment may also include a computer-based task such as a QbTest. A QbTest measures attention, activity levels and impulsivity during a structured task. It provides objective information that supports the clinical assessment. Each assessment is tailored, so not every element is used in every case.

Assessments are carried out in a calm and supportive environment. You can expect:

  • A conversation to understand your experiences
  • Structured questions about attention, behaviour and daily life
  • Activities or tasks designed to understand how you think and respond

There are no right or wrong answers. We guide you through each step and ensure the process feels manageable and clear.

If you are unsure whether an ADHD assessment is the right next step, we can help. We will talk through your concerns and guide you towards the most appropriate option.

Considering ADHD and Autism?

It is not uncommon for individuals to experience traits of both ADHD and autism. In some cases, it may not be clear which assessment is most appropriate.

We offer combined ADHD and autism assessments where this is relevant. This allows us to explore both areas in a structured and comprehensive way. Without the need for separate assessments.

If you are unsure whether ADHD, autism, or both may be present. We suggest you’d get in touch with us. This way, we can help guide you to the most appropriate assessment based on your needs.
